About Jeanine Connor
I have discovered in my own relationships and throughout my years of practice in family therapy, that the more a person invests time in getting to know themselves, the happier they become. The same is true in our interpersonal relationships - it's all about connectedness. Over the years, I have witnessed personal growth and relief when an individual, couple, parent/child, or family achieve this for themselves or with each other. It's a powerfully healing connection that yields a deeper understanding of themselves and those they care about.
The skill of achieving connectedness, or managing emotions in a healthy way, transcends its usefulness into our work roles, community roles, family roles, school responsibilities, and habits. We must consciously work toward opening our hearts and healing ourselves from that which has hurt us. In therapy, we form hypotheses together and you will come to your own conclusions. I will facilitate that process, so that you may author your own story, and attain the happiness in life that can be only known to you.
It is no surprise that at times it can be a troubling event in your life, a new challenge, or some discomfort in your life, that compels you to take the time to discover your inner strengths, your own worth, and what it will take to overcome these challenges. We are stronger than we believe, and smarter too, and this can be uncovered and discovered when you strengthen your own reasoning and decision making skills. If you are looking for help in making positive life change, I will be alongside you every step of the way. I recognize beginning therapy can be a scary step, but for many it is truly a relief to finally make strides toward moving in a preferred direction.
I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Sonoma State University and a NYS license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I live in Rochester with my husband and two sons and enjoy cooking, feeding those I love, and community service!
